Wagga Wagga International Jazz Day 2017

Wagga Wagga musicians and music lovers are joining together to present a day of jazz to celebrate the 2017 UNESCO International Jazz Day. This event takes place with concerts in over 150 countries throughout the world and coincides with a major jazz event in an official global host city.

Wagga Wagga International Jazz Day will take place on Saturday 29 April 2017 at the Commercial Club in Gurwood Street with performances by school bands from 2.00 – 5.00 pm followed by an evening concert from 6.00 pm featuring a number of performers.

Wagga Wagga's International Jazz Day will consist of two jazz concerts. The first will be a School Bands concert in the afternoon from 3pm to 5pm.

From 6pm to 11pm, our talented local jazz bands will fill the Nathan Room with great jazz. The Army Band Kapooka, under the baton of Major Lindsay Mee, will open the evening session at 6.00pm. Mark Saddler and his didgeridoo will be there too.

Then we have Wagga Allstars Jazz Band, Meredith & the Con Men, Peter Brown & Friends and, for the first time, we welcome a band from Katoomba, Jazz Daiquiri.

The venue is the Nathan Room at the Commercial Club, Gurwood Street, Wagga Wagga.

Tickets will be available on the day
